Plastic Bags

Plastic bags are light and easy to carry for shopping.

But plastic bags are very bad for the environment. We've seen them at every where: clinging to trees, driffing along footpaths and swirling around in oceans.  Plasitic bags can kill thousands of birds and marine animals each year because they swallow them.

Make plastic bags are still bad for the environment because of the harmful greenhouse gasses emitted. Another reason is that plastic bags are a danger for small children, if they put the plastic bag on their heads they can suffocate.

What's the solution? I don't  konw. But I agree, when people go shopping and ask for a plastic bag,  they pay up to 25 cents for each bag, that can stop the people using them a lot and might remember to bring their own bags.

I wish the government had a good solution so people don't use plastic bags and keep the Australian environment clean.

FATHERS DAY

When I was a child, I didn't know anything about Father's Day. As soon as I was getting older, I knew about it. Father's Day is important for all the fathers. Different countries have a different day to celebrate Fathers Day. In China, Father's Day is on 8 August. During Father's Day, I celebrate it by having a dinner with my sisters and brothers family at my brothers home.  This year my daughter woke up early to make her dad a breakfast in bed. She made him a ham & egg sandwich and said to him "Happy Father's Day". She also gave him a gift and a card. The gift was a tie from and she designed the card at school. My husband was very happy. He said "I'll be thinking of the both of you and I'm pleased to have such a lovely daughter and a good family

Australian Banknotes - David Unaipon

David Unaipon was born on 28 September 1872 at Poiot Mcleay Mission in Australia. He died on 7 February 1967.

He was an Australian Aboriginal of the Ngarrindjeri people. He was also a preacher, inventor and writer. he was the most widely known Aboriginal in Australia. David Unaipon is featured on the Australian $50 note in commemoration. He even thought about how the boomerang was like a helicopter and invented a tool for shearing sheep. That's one reason why he is famous.
